Wayne Wilbert Williamson

IMG_3256.jpg

We are saddened to announce the passing of Wayne Williamson, devoted father, brave-hearted brother, and loyal friend. Wayne left our world Friday August 7th at the age of 45 after a hard fought battle with bone cancer. His spirit lives on and is strongly remembered by family and friends.

Wayne was the kind-hearted son of Agnes (Tom) and Ken (Darlene), devoted father to Austen, younger brother to Connie (Lee), caring nephew of Freda (Rollie), cousin to Dan, Debbie (Larry), Tristin, brother like friend to Bruce and Neil and many other family members and friends. Wayne’s life was touched by many lives and he would want ever single person listed here but the list gratefully too long.

Wayne was especially gifted with the skill to emanate his love for the world and others through his talents for cooking. At a young age he found his way into the kitchen, creating his first signature dish – spaghetti sauce, his creativity never faltered. He shared his talent with all who knew and loved him. Watching others enjoy the feasts he created was one of his favourite pastimes.

Wayne had an innate ability to find and appreciate people around him (especially the ladies), he held compassion for those he encountered. He was generous, spending time with his family and loved ones, enjoying time with friends, and making sure those around him felt welcome.

Our family is sincerely thankful for the empathy and well wishes expressed by our friends, colleagues and peers at this time.

Joseph Patrick Millar

With deepest regrets and saddened hearts, we would like to announce the passing of Jospeh Patrick Millar, Beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend.

Joseph (Joe) began his life in the North of Ireland, which he loved with a capital “I” to the bone. his love for Ireland followed him as he moved to Denmark where he became a Master Machinist, and then finding his forever home with his family, In Canada.

Joe was a giant of a man, literally and figuratively, with a heart made of pure gold and kindness. If anyone could be genuinely called, “one of the good guys”, it was Joe. Always laughing and joking, he never had a bad thing to say about anyone. It always felt good to be in his presence, and he never stopped smiling despite numerous health problems. A life long Socialist and Republican he NEVER forgot where he came from. Thank god that Ireland in the form of Ros Cooney, gave him happiness in his final months/moments of life.

Joseph is pre-deceased by:
His mother Elizabeth (Madden) Millar and his father Samuel Millar
He is survived by his loving children: Kara (Mike) Siwiski, James McCarthy, Joseph (Heather) Millar
Grandchildren: Samantha (Bradley) Buchanan, Michelle Mattson, Andrea (Perry) Mattson, Nathalie McCarthy, John-Matthew McCarthy, Kevin McCarthy, Mackenzie Siwiski and Cassidy Siwiski.
Great Grandchildren: Daniel and Greyson
As well as his siblings: Danny (Eileen) Millar, Mary (Aunt Toni), Philomena (Seamus) McLoran, Sam (Bernie) Millar, and MULTIPLE Nieces and Nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly.

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
may god hold you in the palm of his hand.

We love you forever and always.

As a wonderful sister, Laura showed deep love for her siblings, always being there to support and help. Laura was also an accomplished businesswoman, while always putting family first. She was a bright light in this world that was extinguished to soon. We love you and miss you always.
She leaves behind two children, Brandon Davies and Tara Davies; siblings, Bill Munro, Dave Munro, and Tracy Darrach; and her grandson, William Davies. All of us will miss her terribly. We will love and cherish who she was and the many happy memories we have with her.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Walter (Donald) Cherneski

IMG_3928.jpg

Walter Donald Cherneski passed away peacefully on August 4, 2020 in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 81.
Born May 6, 1939 in Cudworth, Saskatchewan to Parents Ann and Matt Cherneski. Walter was one of 5 children in their family.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Matt, loving wife of nearly 55 years, Ardene Cherneski, sisters Vivian Gilbertson (Lionel) and Josie Walters (Jerry)
Walter is survived by his daughters Lana Sikora (Darrel), Karen Rowland (Aaron), Grandchildren Spencer Sikora, Jake Rowland and Mackenzie Richards, sister Cecilia Tropeau (Robert) and Brother Gus Cherneski (Carol), many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends.
Walter, a paraplegic for nearly 58 years, never let life in a wheelchair stop him. Before being injured in a motor vehicle accident he was an airplane mechanic with the Royal Canadian Air force. After his lengthy injury recovery, he was placed in hospital with pneumonia where he met his true love, his nurse Ardene Webb. He loved crib and skunked her while playing and she needed to come back that evening and redeem herself. The rest is history as they say.
He went on to live a full life afterwards. He attended and graduated from NAIT as an electrical engineer and spent his career working, alongside his best friend, James Fearn, at the University of Alberta. Walter modified his vehicles to make them work for him along with retrofitting a holiday trailer to go camping with his family. He is well known around Edmonton and the University campus for riding his made for him hand bike that reached top speeds that would scare anyone else in wheelchair. He was featured in both the Edmonton Sun, Journal and a magazine published in the US called Saturday night for that bike. Walter had a charming nature and ability to make fast friends with anyone. He had many accomplishments and loved the Lord fearlessly. We are thankful for his peace and faith to help us through loosing such a wonderful person.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Paraplegic Association in his memory.

Memorial service to be held when it is safe for everyone.
