Paul Wayne Taylor

Sadly in the early morning of July 13,2020 Paul left us after a long fight of cancer. Paul was a man full of laughter and a great spirit all around. He was a man with a lot of personality and a heart of gold. He is survived by his sister (Melanie Taylor), his sons (Bobby and Tyrone), daughter in-law (Carrie) and grand daughter (Hazel), As well as many nieces and nephews. There is two events to celebrate his life, one event will be on July 16th 2020 at his residence. Secondly, there will be a camping event on August 14-16th, 2020. Joseph Maurice Dauvin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Joseph. He passed away suddenly at the age of 76, on July 5, 2020.
He had a long courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease and he now is able to rest in peace.
Joe was a kind and gentle soul who was a loving husband and amazing Dad to his three children. Joe loved to read and spent countless hours invested in a good book. He was also an dedicated artist who painted throughout his life. The sound of Joe’s laugh will never be forgotten and will be within the hearts of all who shared his life.

Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife Laverne; daughter Lisa(Gary); son Marc (Amanda); daughter Nicole; and three beautiful grandchildren, Ella, Victor and Oliver.
He will be greatly missed by his siblings, Maurice (Jean) Dauvin, Phil (Carol) Dauvin, Marie (Neil) Tegenkamp, Chuck (Cheryl) Dauvin, Jacqueline (Kelvin) Galambos, Daniel Dauvin, Celine Dauvin, Ernest (Sue) Dauvin, Michael (Michelle) Dauvin, Bernard (Leona) Dauvin, Leonard (Sandra) Dauvin, Roger (Peggy) Dauvin, and many nieces and nephews.
Joe is welcomed into eternal life by his mom Jeanne; father Maurice; brother Raymond; and sister Marguerite.

In keeping with Joe’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honour his life on July 10th, 2020.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation as Joe found meaning there in his early career as a social worker.

Jean Derejko

DEREJKO, Janina (Jean) (nee: Petrow)
July 29, 1925 – June 18, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that on June 18, 2020, our mom and Babcia, Jean Derejko, completed the final chapter in her book of life. Left to cherish her memories are her four sons, Richard (Carol), Jerry (Susanne), Larry, and Jeff (Vivian); seven grandchildren, Josh, Jennifer, Nathan, Elizabeth, Katie-Sue, Sarah, and David; and nine great grandchildren, Levi, Anya, Caleb, Cooper, Everley, Samuel, Madison, Marlowe, and one great grandchild arriving in November. Jean was predeceased (2013) by Leon, her husband of 67 years and her brother, Tony Petrow.

A private funeral will be held on Friday, June 26th. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, when larger gatherings are once again safe and will allow us to share some fond memories of Jean.

Kathleen Nadine Scott

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Nadine Scott on June 29,2020 at the age of 62. Kathy passed away peacefully with the wonderful staff at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta after a courageous battle with cancer. Kathy is predeceased by her parents Wilfred Scott and Nelida McDonald. She is survived by her brother Robert Scott and her children Tammy Brownlee (Paul), Myste Loewen, Lane Griffith (Stephanie) and Leigha Catamisan (Kyle), as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kathy had requested that no funeral services be held. Cremation was provided by Simply Cremations in Edmonton, Alberta. Kathy will always be remembered as a loving mother and friend and she will be forever missed.

Joanne Bacon

It is with great sadness, and loving memory that we announce the passing of our mom Joanne, on June 5, 2020.
Her fun loving, wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed; as will her fantastic ability to make everyone she knew feel welcome and cared for. She was spending her time with friends knitting scarves for the homeless; calling bingo for the avid players in her building; reading and getting out with family whenever possible.
She was predeceased by her parents, Kathy (Ray), Joe and her first child, Christopher. She is survived by four children; Daniel (Sarah), Trenna (Joyce), Michelle, and Sean (Laurie); four siblings Carol(Gary), Barb (Albert), Becky and Frank as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews that she loved so dearly.

Bryan William Holt Hebden

It is with great sadness that the family of Bryan Hebden announces his passing into the spirit world, on Sunday June 21, 2020 at the age of 69. Bryan will be lovingly remembered and honoured by his wife of 43 years Pat and his children Shannon and Eric (Karlene). Bryan will be fondly remembered by his 3 beloved grandchildren Joshua, Addison and Mahikan, his sisters Loretta, Patricia (Stan), sister-in-law Shirley (Heinz) and many nieces and nephews.
Bryan was predeceased by his parents Bryan and Louise, sister Bernice and brothers-in-law Fred and George.
A memorial service for Bryan will be held on Saturday June 27, 2020 at 2:00 pm. Sadly, due to COVID19, this service will be limited to immediate family only. A Celebration of Life will be held for extended family and friends at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, for those who so desire, we ask that you make a nominal donation in memory of Bryan to the Edmonton Humane Society, which was dear to his heart.

Mary Alice Christensen (nee Pryor)

Mary passed away peacefully at St Albert after a short illness. Her life was filled by family and she is very missed by them all. Some of her favourite stories included her travel to Europe, the Caribbean and the US. She started her life as a daughter of farmers and became Mom at a young age to three children. Auntie Mary was a second Mom to her nieces and nephew. She became Grandma to two grandchildren and then four great-grandchildren who lived with her.

Mary was a music teacher with award winning students. She had the talent of a concert pianist but chose to be a wife and Mom instead. Mary’s talent with numbers was a true strength. She used that talent as a bookkeeper as well as a career in banking which saw her start as a part-time teller and retire as management.

Mary is survived by her husband, Lewis. Her three children, Catherine, Clifford and Clayton (Dawn). Her grandchildren, Amanda and Alex. Her great-grandchildren, Takyra, Tynan, Taleya and Tayana. Her sister, Sylvia (Ron) and her brother, Art (Leona). Her nieces and nephews as well as grandnephews and great-nieces.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Herbert (Bert) and Nellie Pryor (nee Kinsey).

Margaret Isabelle Richardson(nee) Lackey

It’s with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Margaret Isabelle Richardson (nee) Lackey of St.Paul Alberta at the young age of 87 , she was born in Ottawa Ontario on Aug,25 1932, she left us on June 22, 2020 . She met her husband Don at a young age of 15 they married when she turned 16 and moved west from Ottawa to Revelstoke B.C. They worked hard and raised a family with little money and much love. After the passing of her husband, she moved back to Ottawa to be closer to her family and after several years she then came to Alberta for the rest of her days. She enjoyed life to the fullest, she loved the outdoors, gardening and looking after her favourite sweet peas and other flowers, as well as fishing suntanning and spending time with family and friends and she will be forever loved and missed . She is survived by her loving children Linda Richardson of Revelstoke BC, Glen (Nelli) Richardson of Revelstoke BC, Donna (Brian) Desjardin of Chase BC, Maurine Richardson of St.Paul Alberta, Lana (Greg) Guinup of Ashmont Alberta, 10 grand children, 15 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Her brother Robert Lackey, sister Marlin Dale, both of Ottawa Ont. She was predeceased by her husband Donald John Richardson (D.J.) one brother Gordey Lackey and one sister Marion Dolan. Grandson Anthony James Guinup. Cremation has taken place a celebration of life will be held at a later date. If desired donations can be made to any animal shelter of your choice she loved her pets.

Arthur Lewis Higdon

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Arthur Lewis Higdon. Arthur passed away peacefully at Mary Immaculate Care Centre in Mundare, Alberta on June 13, 2020. He went to be with his Lord at the age of 83 years, born in New Harbour Trinity Bay, Newfoundland on Dec 4, 1936.

He was predeased by his parents Arthur and Maria (nee Gilbert) Higdon; Sisters; Elizabeth, Edna and Winnie; Brothers; Reg and Colin; great-great-grand Daughter Elizibeth; grand Daughter Barbra.

He is survived by his loving wife Ruth; his Daughters; Joy (Gary), Diane (Tony); his Sons; Brian (late Violet), Dennis; his grand Children; Kevin (Tamara), Crystal (Jason), Michael, Samantha, Amanda, Jordan, Phoenix, brother Harold, sisters Florence and Cherry, 13 great-grand children; 4 great-great-grand children; many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and dear Friends.

Arthur nick name “Art” was a very strong hard worker who worked as a Journeyman Brick Layer & Cement Mason for many years, during those years he traveled to many different places till he settled in Alberta, Canada with his family. He stayed in Alberta for the later part of his life. Here he watched his beautiful family grow. No matter where he roamed Newfoundland was always his home. He enjoyed talking and laughing with his family and friends. Some of his favorite past times were playing cards (crib), working on puzzles, watching western shows, he loved collecting stuffed animals and sharing them with everyone. He filled the room with laughter and smiles. He had his own personal struggles throughout the years, He found comfort in the Lord and strong in faith. He had lots of wisdom and willing to lend a listening ear. Arthur’s favorite bibles verses were Matthew 6:9-13; Luke 11:1-13. Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe. Nehemiah 8:10 Do not Grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

He was loved by so many and will be deeply missed. Forever Loved, Forever Treasured, Never Forgotten, Always in Our Hearts!

Brian Harry Petryshen

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian at the age of 68. He fought a hard battle with emphysema.
Brian is survived by his wife Marie of 44 years, his children, Shannon (Jeff), Cristin (Darcy), Calla (Sam), his 6 grandchildren, his mother Mary, his brothers Denis (Ursi), John, and his sisters Val (Greg), and Lori (Kevin).
Brian was predeceased by his dad Harry, brother Wally, nephews Michael and Benjie, and his niece Chrissy.
Brian worked in the oilfield from the age 18 to the time he retired at the age of 65. When he wasn’t working, he liked to be in the mountains and spending time with his family.
Brian will be loved and missed by all his family & friends.
