On Mother’s Day, May 14″, 2023, after a long and valiant battle with multiple health issues for the majority of her life, Barbara Helen Militz (86) of Beaumont, Alberta left us, as she said, “to meet [her] Maker”.
Born August 2nd, 1936, Barb was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Herbert Ball; her brothers, Gary Ball, Gale (Ollie) Ball, and Victor Quartermain; and her son Perry (Norma) Rugulies.
She is survived by her children, Rodney (Stevie) Rugulies, Lynne Chwy (Rugulies) and Adam (Larissa) Spark; her daughter-in-law, Norma Rugulies; her sisters, Beverley (Patrick) Bell, and Ruth (Bunty) Ball; brother, Steven (Kathy) Ball; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom she loved dearly.
Barb loved to crochet while watching every movie known to man, and quite simply could not be beaten at movie trivia. She stockpiled afghans for generations to come.
She loved to fish and camp, and she was obsessed with watching baby videos on social media. As Barb often said, “Truly – truly so.”
Barb’s wishes were to be cremated and have a small, simple gathering of close family and friends at her graveside to say their final farewells in privacy.
For those who wish, the family has requested in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in Barb’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Words fail to express our deep sorrow for the family’s loss. She was loved by many and shall be missed. We shall always cherish the memories we have of her.
So very sorry. Will always our many laughs over our fishing and camping trips.
Will miss Barb aka Bubbles beyond words.RIP dear friend
