Beverly Evelyn Featherstone (Cook)

Bev Featherstone passed away on February 8,2023 after a battle with cancer. She was born in Penticton, British Columbia on August 27, 1949 to Adam and Nellie Cook (Hencheroff). She is survived by her husband, John Featherstone and her children, Bobbi Bachand (Alan Bachand), Wendy Featherstone (Richard Wilm), Rick Featherstone (Tricia Featherstone) and Dwaine Featherstone. She is also survived by her beloved
grandchildren Curtis Bliss, Erin Bachand (Dan Reichenbach) and Kyle Bachand, Jacob and Jackson Featherstone, Reece, Carter and Kiera Featherstone, as well as her great grandchildren Avanna and Layna Reichenbach and Myles Hustej.

Bev was raised in Vancouver with her beloved sister Kathleen Thrithardt (Cook). She got her hairdressing license at the very early age of 16. She was determined in all things, and if she set her mind to something, she would not be swayed.

John Featherstone was the love of her life, and he came with two beautiful, willful
daughters that she raised with all the love and patience of a saint. When her equally headstrong amazing boys were born, it was a household of chaos and love. The family was never what some would consider a “blended” family. Bev raised her children with
respect and manners but also to laugh and love. The Featherstone house was always abundant with food, laughter, friends, and pandemonium. Everyone knew that our door was always open, and all were welcome.

Bev was passionate about many things. Her family was first on her list. But she was also a successful business owner and operator. She was creative and loved art in all forms and creating beauty. She did it through hairdressing, but also through her many hobbies
including crocheting, painting, sewing, crafts and gardening. Really, anything that could make the world a little prettier she would try. She shared this passion with her children and grandchildren.

She had a quiet strength that the family looked up to and she conducted her business, her family, and her personal values quietly and without compromise. Bev maintained her
privacy and dignity in the face of a giant, and she did everything she could to selflessly comfort her loved ones through her treatments.

We will be having a celebration of life for her on:
March 11th, 2023, at the Wabamun Jubilee Hall at 1:00pm.
5132 53 ave, Wabamun, AB T0E 2K0

Bev felt very strongly that in lieu of flowers, she would appreciate donations to the Cross Cancer Institute. She was very grateful for their help, and she was proud to participate in some of the studies they are doing to help others in their battle with cancer.

I am so very sorry to hear of Bev’s passing. She was truly one of the nicest people I know. I can’t recall ever seeing her without a smile on her face. “Genuine” is probably the best word I have to describe her. My heart goes out to the Featherstone family as I know you feel an immense loss. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that others share your loss.
