Gary passed away on February 19, 2022, at the Misercordia Hospital in Edmonton after a short battle with COVID19. He had underlying issues that made it hard to treat.
Gary was a diehard Edmontonian, and proud of it. He loved his Eskimos and Oilers, but he would happily watch any team play so long as he could provide his own commentary and cuss out the refs for not doing their job right.
He was an admitted loner, and he spent most of his time alone, quietly reading about
anything that piqued his curiosity, or watching sports and the odd documentary. In his
final years, he had his beloved girl, Sadie, by his side to keep him going forward, though she sadly passed two months prior.
He is predeceased by his parents, Jack Delorey (Rose) and Agnes Collin (George), and his brother David Collin. He is survived by his sisters Roxanne Hebert, Kathryn Hackett, and Cara-Lee Secord; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
As per Gary’s wishes, no service was held, and his ashes will be spread at an undisclosed location.
