On January 30th, 2022 Leslie left us after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her daughter Robyn (Hassen), her brothers Geoff (Bobbi) of Winnipeg, Brent (Camela) of Edmonton, God daughter Shanaye Osborne of Medicine Hat and her mother Dorothy Ives. Predeceased by her husband Dave in 2011 and her father Larry in 2021. Leslie had many good friends and appreciated all of them.
Leslie was very talented and strove for excellence in all her undertakings; Bethel Queen of Job’s Daughters, synchronized ice skating, gardening, quilting and sewing, and showcased her artistic abilities in everything she did. She always enjoyed travelling, from visiting the polar bears in Manitoba, to an encounter with a camel in Dubai. Her travels took her around the world one and a half times.
Leslie’s career involved several aspects, she truly enjoyed her time as Information Officer for Forestry Services and was always ready to hop in the helicopter to assess the fires firsthand. Leslie had a great sense of humor, was a great Mom to Robyn and was always caring for Robyn’s friends.
We are very grateful to all the Doctors, Nurses and staff at the Cross Cancer Institute for all they did for Leslie.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Robyn, please contact me at excalibur4078 @ yahoo.com. I would like to discuss your mom with you. She was a wonderful person, and we miss her. Thank you.

I had the pleasure of meeting Leslie @ a business function many years ago. She left an indelible impression on me that I will never forget. May her memory be a blessing.
When I think of Leslie I think of bright orange and pink colours, I think of animal statues and prints, her beautiful creations with unique designs that she could come up with on the fly. I think of how thoughtful and caring she always was. She was always willing to help everyone in any way she could, from sewing wedding bags, researching venues, cooking our favourite food (the egg thing every Saturday morning at the farm), making sure Robyn and I had vhs movies to watch and were always having fun. She also spoiled me and treated me as one of her own so that Robyn and I could wear matching outfits and be more like sisters than cousins. She was never too mad when we would get into trouble, which happened to be a lot of the time. She would hear that you wanted something, and she would get it done for you, including the Tuffet she sewed for me that matched my house (when she hadn’t even been there to know the colours). Her designs were always remarkable, and I cherish every moment I got to learn from her. She is truly the best Auntie and a wonderful person. She spoke to my own heart in the way that she believed in traditions and always made me fun games for Christmas including giant Jenga and Yard Yahtzee. I will forever be in awe of her fun-loving spirit and the light that she always brought to the party. I know she is shining in heaven now. Rest in Peace Leslie, we love you and will continue to carry a piece of your light with us forever.
Leslie was a talented marketing professional with outstanding expertise in communications, advertising and promotions. She helped build the ED TEL/TELUS brand in communications, cellular and directory organizations. She then helped EPCOR ‘put a little love in your heart’. She was creative, original and hard-working. A colleague as well as a friend!
Such a beautiful lady with a beautiful heart and smile. My condolences Robyn to you and your family.

We are heart broken by the loss of Leslie. We wish we had words to lighten your agony but sometimes words are just not enough. Please accept our deepest condolences on your loss. We will always cherish the good times we had with Leslie camping at the farm and our girls trips to Phoenix . Leslie was such a kind and caring person and we are so happy to have had the privilege of having her in our lives. Rest in peace beautiful lady we will miss you.
Please know we are thinking of you in your time of loss. Leslie was such an awesome girl. I remember when we were in Phoenix and Leslie was directing Tom to the restaurant. Tom was not listening and missed the turn so Leslie said “re-calculating” as if she were a GPS. I laughed so hard. We will miss her.
Condolences. Had the pleasure of working with Leslie at EDTEL. Remarkable person, bright, creative and always positive.
