Born on May 16, 1962 in Miramichi City, NB, the cherished daughter of Katharine Brennan Scott and Aloysius Brennan
(Audrey), Melanie Mary Knapp (nee Brennan) passed away
unexpectedly at the Edmonton University hospital on Sunday March 27, 2022.
Melanie is survived by both her parents Katherine and Aloysius (Audrey), and her
children Shawn Brennan (Wendy) of Innisfail, AB and Nicole Murphy (Travis) of Boyle, AB.
She is also survived by her brothers Michael Brennan of Mayerthorpe, AB, and Richard Brennan (Rosaleen) of Fredericton, NB; her nieces Katharine and Victoria;
nephews Matthew and Riley (Haley); her grandchildren Gavin and Zoe Brennan, and Kalum Willis; and her three special aunts, Leslie Fournier, Marjorie McPherson, and her dear aunt Mary Brennan, after whom she was named, and her uncle Patrick Fournier.
Melanie is predeceased by both her maternal and paternal grandparents, and two uncles, John and Leonard Fournier.
Melanie will be remembered for her care and compassion towards those less fortunate in society, not realizing that her unfailing concern for others would be detrimental to her own health issues.
She will be forever remembered by her relatives and many friends for her beautiful smile that would light up a room. With her wonderful personality, Melanie was truly a beautiful person who will be dearly missed by all that loved her.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
For those that wish to, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
“Miss Melaine”.. thank you for all the great memories!!!??
My condolences go out to Melanie’s family and friends right now, it’s not easy going through something like this but we all need to remember the good times we had with her and her beautiful smile which we will all get to see again someday. Rest In Peace to a beautiful soul that will be missed by so many. Amen.
