On July 7th, 2024, Roger passed away unexpectedly at the age of 84. He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 58 years Dianne (nee Wolfe); son Myles (Melissa Rothfus) of Halifax; daughter Michelle (Jasen Elliot) of Calgary; grandchildren Ella, Claire, Iris and Penelope; and his sister Barbara Gregory of Kelowna.

Roger was born in Edmonton to Errol and Dorothy McCallum (nee Pearson) and raised between Edmonton and Peace River by his parents and his loving Aunt Elsie Wilson (nee McCallum) and Grandmother Olive McCallum, attending Victoria Composite High School and graduating from Pioneer High School.

As a young man, he was keenly interested in sports, particularly boxing. Roger attended the University of Oklahoma, earning his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering in 1965. He worked for Montreal Engineering and Imperial Oil before going on to own and operate Reed-McCallum Engineering Ltd. for over 40 years. Roger was passionate about his work which took him across the country; he enjoyed meeting new clients, helping them achieve their goals, and the challenges of bringing projects to completion. He continued to work as a civil engineer into his 70s on local projects, including renovations to the Stanley A. Milner library.

He met Dianne in Edmonton when they were both working in the same building. They were married in 1966 and began raising a family shortly afterwards. He lived in Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, and Richmond during his career, but for most of his life he called Edmonton home. In his middle years, Roger discovered a love for the sea, vacationing frequently with the family, and later just Dianne, in Hawaii where he took up scuba diving, which he enjoyed immensely. In his later years, he enjoyed visiting with his family, getting to know his grandchildren, and investing.

Rest in peace, Roger, you will be missed by all who knew you.
