Rose Haraba

On October 17, 2021, Rose Haraba passed away peacefully in her sleep with her son Bobby at her side after a lengthy battle with declining health. She was 82.
Rose was a fiercely independent woman, who was also a devoted and loving single mom. To her family and friends, her generosity and love were beyond compare. She was selfless and would do or give anything to help, always making sure no one ever left hungry. She was simply an amazing cook.
Working in the restaurant and food service industry, she was renowned for her kindness and gentleness to her countless customers and friends.
Rose leaves behind her heartbroken son Bobby, his wife Cassandra, and grandson Rowan; three brothers (Georgy, Johnny, Joe); two sisters (Vicky, Betty); nieces and nephews; and devoted friends. She was predeceased by her parents, three sisters (Helen, Margaret and Amelia) and her brother (Nick).
We wish to extend our greatest appreciation to Michelle Comeau and her team at the Misericordia Hospital (Edmonton) for their extraordinary care and love for Rose when she was in their care during the heavy pandemic restrictions.
Rose wished to be cremated but did not want a service to be held. She made the world a better place. She can now rest.

My condolences Bobby on the loss of your mom. I just recently receuved the news of her passing.

Cha-cha raised Bobby and myself between the two sisters, Vicky & Rose. Both single moms doing what they could to make the best for us children.

My fondest memory of cha-cha was how absolutely stunning she was and how full of life she was. Never a dull moment when I went and attended events with her. Oh and the food, she was a true Ukranian woman, she was always feeding everyone.

My thoughts to my cousin and his family, even though time has passed. I will chat with Cha-cha in my prayers

I am deeply saddened to have learned of Rose’s passing.
Though I have fallen out of touch, I remember Rose as a kind, warm, and generous person.
I was blessed to be a recipient of her generosity and hospitality.
I was always welcomed to her many delicious festive feasts over the years.

Rose was a great Mom to Bobby.
With modest means, sacrifice, and enduring the difficulties a being a single parent; she did an amazing job raising her son.
A son, in which I was fortunate to have called friend.

My sincerest condolences to Bobby and family.
She shall be missed; but never forgotten.
She shall always be remembered; living forever in our hearts.
Rest in peace Rose.
You have earned your sleep.

Although I have not seen or talked to Rose for some time I will remember her as a very wonderful person. She had many nice qualities and know that she loved her son Bobby very much. A very sad day for me to learn of her passing.
