It is with great sadness that the family of Shannon Marie Spanier announces her sudden passing on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the age of 51 years. She passed away in her home in Edmonton, Alberta. Shannon will be fondly remembered by her mother, Sylvia (Ted, deceased), her sister Kim (Shane), her brother Darryl (Sacha) and her brother Jordan (Terri). Shannon will also be remembered by her nieces and nephews, Crystal, Savanah, Daylin, Lilah, Kale, Brooke,
Dalis and Bret.
Shannon was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. She moved to Edmonton, Alberta and has resided there for more than 25 years. During her time in Edmonton, she dedicated herself to a career with Loblaws where she started as a grocery assembler and then a grocery trainer. She went on to master all aspects of the distribution center such as, becoming one of the first and finest female forklift operators as well as shipping and trailer loading/unloading. She eventually worked her way up to become a valued and loved supervisor, trusted by all on-floor employees.
Family was extremely important to Shannon and she always made an effort to maintain close relationships with all those in her life. Although her family lived in Regina she also had a supportive family of friends in Edmonton. Shannon was a huge lover of cats and enjoyed being a cat mom to Elliott and Chloe. She had an infectious personality which made it very easy to love her. She was a selfless, kind and caring person that you could always count on. She will be sorely missed and there will never be another Shannon in this lifetime.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be a private small family gathering for a gravesideservice.
I went to high school with Shannon. She was kind hearted and hilarious : )
