October 4, 1932 – February 15, 2024
Simone Sillye, born Simone Verret, peacefully departed this world at the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories. Born alongside her twin sister Jeanne on October 4, 1932, in Quebec, into a family of nine siblings,
surrounded by the love and laughter of two brothers and six sisters.
In her youth, Simone embarked on a journey that would shape the course of her life. Moving with her family to Falher, Alberta, she encountered Roger Aubin, the man who would become her beloved husband. Their love story intertwined with Jeanne’s, as Roger’s cousin Marcel Aubin joined them in a double wedding ceremony, forging bonds between families that would endure through generations, creating a tapestry of shared memories and cherished moments.
Simone’s heart overflowed with love for her family, and she dedicated herself
wholeheartedly to caring for them. Whether through her delicious baked goods that filled her home with warmth and sweetness or through the joyous camping trips and
fishing expeditions that brought laughter and adventure, she showered her loved ones with affection and joy.
Those who were fortunate enough to know Simone will fondly remember her for the warmth and kindness that radiated from her, her infectious smile, and her easy laughter that could brighten even the darkest of days. She embraced life with a youthful spirit,
living by the mantra, “You are only as old as you feel,” and she never failed to inject a bit of mischief and fun into gatherings with her beloved sisters and brothers.
Simone leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by her sons Michel Aubin, Denis Aubin (Jody), and Robert Aubin (Anita), nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is reunited with her husband Roger, her second husband Joseph Sillye, her son Andre Aubin and grandsons Christopher Aubin and Jeremy Aubin. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In honoring Simone’s life, let us remember her with joy and gratitude for the love she shared, the laughter she brought, and the indelible mark she left on our lives. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, may her spirit live on in the cherished memories we hold dear. Rest in peace, dear Simone, knowing that you are loved beyond measure and will be deeply missed.

She may be gone, but the impact she made on your life and the lives of those around her will never be forgotten. Hold onto the love and laughter shared with her, and know that she will always be remembered. The world is a better place for having had her in it
