It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fred Comin at the age of 71, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Left to mourn his loss are his wife of 52 years Pat, son Jamie(Leah), daughter Jen(Randy), and his cherished grandchildren Talin, Ava, Grace and Kalona. He was predeceased by his eldest son Steve, his parents Albino and Genevieve, and in-laws Mike and Rita.

Fred was never one to shy away from hard work in life. Beginning at a young age, he was eager to get out in the world. From running his dads barbershop to being a landlord to eventually becoming a general contractor, Fred was the jack of all trades and never stopped learning. He found purpose with working with his hands, be it building a log cabin, planting a garden or creating a birdhouse. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting or simply spending time in nature, there was always a new lake with better fishing. It was his adventurous spirit that would draw him to Costa Rica, where he would spend his winters on the ocean dreaming of his next big catch.

Fred will be remembered as a man who lived everyday to its fullest. His big personality along with the best sense of humour was sure to make a lasting impression on all who met him. A big heart that didn’t go unnoticed, we will miss you. Your next adventure awaits.

“To all those who think of me, be happy as I go out to sea. If others wonder why I’m missing. Just tell’em I’ve gone fishing”

A special thank you to the amazing ladies at the Strathcona IV Clinic, Fred adored you all. A celebration of life will be held at a later date

Fred was a amazing men. Yes he would try anything as I remember one time he gave a hand on a job that required a helicopter ride to top of a mountain he thought it may be his last ride.
But we survived. Many memories. Thoughts and prayers to the family.
