Jeffrey Lloyd Nordlund

July 25, 1956 – April 9, 2025

We celebrate the life of Jeffrey Lloyd Nordlund—a man whose kindness, humility, and devotion shaped every corner of his life. Jeff was a loving father to Hannah and Torsten Nordlund (with their mother Chantel), beloved husband to Leona (Lee) Ash, stepfather to Kalin Slough. He is also deeply missed by his sister Jan Durvin (Brian, Brad, Katie), brother Dennis Nordlund (Maria, Wynn, Annabella, Andreas, Mimi). Jeff was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Betty Nordlund.

Raised in Vanderhoof, BC, Jeff’s early years were filled with hockey games, music competitions, and family time helping in his father’s drug store. These formative experiences shaped his humble, kind nature and lifelong dedication to community. After finishing high school in Penticton and earning his degree from UBC, Jeff began teaching in Kimberley, BC. He then found his professional calling co-creating the celebrated MAD (Music, Arts, and Drama) program in Whitehorse, Yukon. For decades, he inspired students with his passion and generosity.

Jeff lived fully—on hockey rinks, ski slopes, and beaches. Whether coaching, patrolling, or camping with loved ones, his energy and love for life were unmistakeable. He found joy in every season and valued time with family and friends .

In recent years, as he navigated life with Pulmonary Artery Hypertension, Jeff found solace in simpler pleasures: surfing the web, good movies, concerts, and the vibrant arts of Sherwood Park (Edmonton,AB).

Jeff was a quiet pillar in every community he touched. His legacy lives on in the students he taught, the friends he encouraged, and the family he loved unconditionally. He will be deeply missed and warmly remembered.
