Donna MacDonald

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Donna Lee MacDonald announce her                                      unexpected passing on April 25, 2025, at the age of 69 years.

Donna will always be lovingly remembered by her three children: Chris (Penny), Jeff (Vanessa), and Kim (Mike); her two granddaughters, Renee and Rebecca; as well as extended family and dear friends.

Donna was born in small-town Saskatchewan, the eldest of five. It was there she cultivated her love of gardening, reading, and caring for others—passions that remained with her throughout her life. She moved to Edmonton for university, but it was in nearby Sherwood Park where she raised her family and found a lasting sense of community. Donna found purpose in her work as an educational assistant. She took pride in supporting students and found deep fulfillment in helping them grow and succeed. Her friendships—especially those formed through Good News Moravian Church—were a source of strength and joy. Her faith allowed her to endure life’s challenges with grace, by leaning on God, her family, and the people who loved her. Among her greatest joys were her granddaughters, whom she cherished deeply and loved without measure. She also had a special place in her heart for animals; her pets were faithful companions who brought her comfort and unconditional love.

Donna has been cremated in accordance with her and her family’s wishes. Though no formal service is planned at this time, her memory will be cherished always.
