We are saddened to announce the passing of Beverlee Joyce (Robinson) Smears on February 7, 2025. Beloved wife of Alex and loving mother of Reginald (Wanita) Smears, Joanne (Danny) Aubin and Lee(Bernice) Smears.
Bev was predeceased by her husband Alex, her parents Christopher and Etta Robinson, her siblings Lilian(Jim) Sharp, Kaye(Bill) Dutton, Gordon(Vie) Robinson, Doug(Dorothy) Robinson, Hazel(Ben) Profit, Roy(Marian) Robinson and Betty(Harry) Pagan. Also by all of Alex’s siblings, and several nieces and nephews. Her heart broke at the loss of her grandson Ryan Smears and her Great Granddaughter Katie Betemps.
Bev was born in Yorkton, Sask. and moved with her family to Snowden area as a young girl. She met Alex when she was a teenager and they were married in April 1949. They farmed in Snowden area for a few years and later moved North of Choiceland to farm, where they lived until they retired. Bev always had a big garden, but loved her flowers and the birds.
Bev remained on the farm for several years after Alex passed away, then when she was 89, she moved Placid Place in town. She was an active member of the Seniors in Choiceland and loved going to Bingo every Monday night for many years. She also loved playing cards and going to the casino. The last few years were spent living between Reg’s here and Joanne’s in Edmonton. She missed her friends while living in Edmonton and tried to keep in touch by phone.
Bev was auntie to many special nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was quite healthy up to the end and often said how lucky she was to have been so healthy and live a good long life.
Beverlee leaves to mourn her son Reg, daughter-in-law, Wanita, daughter Joanne, son-in-law Daniel and son Lee (Bernice) Smears. Also her beloved grandchildren Lee, Julia, Shaun, Camille, Matthew, Kathleen, Chauncy and Christopher.
